To all SD54 technology users:
Technicians from Terrace will be replacing a router at our school board office on Friday at noon.
As a result, Smithers Secondary and the School Board Office will be without Internet access for a period of time that lunch hour.
Other sites will be able to browse the Internet but the school district webpage will not appear in the browser. Users will need to type in addresses to external sites they wish to reach.
The school district email server and Moodle servers will also be unavailable during this outage.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

Wireless Changes.
The SD54 computer technicians have made a change to the Student or Guest wireless access in schools.
When connecting a wireless device to a school network you will now see three wireless points:
SD54-WL (This is the secure wireless point for school district devices. Allows drive mapping and printing.)
XXX-Student (This is the old student wirelss system which will disappear in a week's time (Monday, Nov 14). XXX is the school code i.e. LKS-Student)
Student (This is the new students wireless network)
